Industry Update: Stryker Announces End-of-Service for LUCAS 2 Chest Compression Systems

Stryker has officially announced the upcoming obsolescence of their LUCAS 2 Chest Compression Systems, impacting all models from version 2.0 through 2.2. The manufacturer confirmed essential replacement parts for LUCAS 2 devices have become unavailable, making ongoing service and repair impossible.

What You Need to Know

The affected models:
  • LUCAS 2.0 and LUCAS 2.1 (Serial numbers 30080002 – 30149937)
  • LUCAS 2.2 (Serial numbers 3014A001 – 3018L431)
As of February 2025, Stryker announced they will no longer provide replacement components or repair services for these units.

What This Means for Your EMS Organization

As of these dates, your LUCAS 2 devices will no longer receive manufacturer-approved support, making them potentially unreliable or unsafe for continued emergency use. Relying on equipment without official service support can create significant liability and compromise patient safety during critical emergencies.
