For the 50th Anniversary of EMS Week, we also celebrate Nathan Schrupp for his service to our community! Nathan is a Sales Associate at MME and has been a first responder for 20 years and a Board Certified Flight Paramedic and Critical Care Paramedic through the International Board of Specialty Certification.
"I've learned that life is not guaranteed. Death and disease are equal opportunity offenders regardless of an individual's socioeconomic demographic. Knowing this and seeing it has helped me appreciate the small moments in life we usually take for granted. Live each moment and value those around you."

Nathan, thank you for your service to our community, you are so appreciated!

For EMS week, we want to highlight a few of our very own first responders! First we want to recognize Trent Harris. Trent has been in the emergency medicine field for 28 years and is licensed in TN as a Critical Care Paramedic and a Board Certified Tactical Medic.

Here's Trent's top takeaways from his experience as a first responder:
1. God, Family, Work.... Everything else will fall into place.
2. Be nice to everyone you meet if at all possible. You never know who you'll be looking up at on the worst day of your life.
3. Don't take anything for granted. It can all change in the blink of an eye .
4. Most people never think twice about what happens when they clock out and go home. But there are some people working around the clock just to make sure your community and your family is safe in the event of an emergency.
5. First Responders have a weird sense of humor. It's ok though, it's a way of coping.

Trent, we appreciate you and we are so thankful for your service in our community!

Did you know, the National Association of EMS Physicians recommends continuing resuscitation compressions for at least 20 minutes? Unfortunately, due to fatigue, the quality of manual CPR can quickly degrade after just two minutes. Quality compressions are crucial to improving survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest.
