Smart Investment with a Low Total Cost of Ownership

Longer-lasting batteries and pads require fewer replacement parts, adding up to considerable cost savings over time and rescue readiness in a cardiac arrest emergency.

Intuitive One-piece Electrode Pad Design

Speed is of the essence when treating a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. ZOLL’s CPR-D-padz® electrodes feature a unique one-piece, pull-strip design to ensure fast and accurate placement and to minimize the potential of pads being dropped or stuck together.

Designed to be Durable

AEDs are often subjected to rough handling and extreme conditions during an emergency. The ZOLL AED Plus® is highly resistant to dust and moisture and has an ingress protection (IP) rating of 55, among the highest in the industry. It also meets IEC 68-2-27; 100G for shock and military (MIL Standard 810F).

Options to Meet Your Preferred Shock Protocol

The ZOLL AED Plus is available in both semi-automatic (shock button manually pressed by rescuer if a shockable rhythm is detected) or fully automatic (AED automatically administers a shock if a shockable rhythm is detected).

Why is high-quality CPR so important?

An AED will only recommend a shock 50% of the time on the first analysis. A cardiac arrest victim will require high-quality CPR 100% of the time.

  • For those 50% of cases where no shock is advised, providing high-quality CPR increases the flow of oxygenated blood to the heart which can result in presentation of a shockable rhythm on the next heart analysis. Without CPR these victims have virtually no chance of survival.
  • Even when a shock is advised, a struggling heart needs high-quality CPR to provide it with oxygenated blood to help it recover to a normal rhythm.
  • High-quality CPR also provides oxygenated blood to the brain and other vital organs which can help prevent complications and permanent damage for victims who survive. How do you know that Real CPR Help is effective?
  • The American Heart Association, in a 2013 consensus of science statement, stated that “monitoring of CPR quality should be incorporated into every resuscitation.

One-Piece pads

ZOLL’s one-piece pad design helps proper pad placement as well as helps prevent damage from mishandling (dropping pads or getting them stuck together).

Durability

With an IP (ingress protection) rating of 55, The ZOLL AED Plus has among the highest resistance to dust and moisture.

Rectilinear biphasic waveform

ZOLL’s proprietary rectilinear biphasic waveform is the only wave form that was specifically designed for external defibrillation. Other AEDs use waveforms that were originally designed for use in internal defibrillation devices.

Airway support

The AED Plus lid can be placed under a victim’s head to help maintain an open airway.

  • ZOLL AED Plus Features

    Real CPR Help

Zoll’s highly-praised Real CPR Help feature gives a bystander real-time feedback on the efficacy of their chest compressions. As they administer life-saving CPR, they can have confidence that the rate of chest compressions is at the recommended 100-120 compressions per minute, and the depth is between 2 to 2.4 inches. Previously, they would have to guess whether they were administering CPR correctly.

    Audio prompts and visual icons

It is easy to forget your training when faced with a high-pressure situation. That is why the Zoll Plus AED walks the user through the process of life-saving CPR from beginning to end with clear audio and visual prompts. The icons correspond with the American Heart Association’s Chain of Survival, following a sequence of six critical actions that increase survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and other life-threatening emergencies.

    Easy-to-place, one-piece electrodes

Tangled wires are the last thing you need when saving a life, which is why Zoll’s CPR-D-padz® electrodes come in one piece and are pre-connected to the defibrillator. Simply pull them out of the Zoll Plus AED and then use the easy-to-follow images on the pads to place them quickly onto the victim. These pads boast the most extended shelf life of any defibrillator sold, with a 5-year shelf life.

    Fully automatic feature is available

The Zoll AED Plus package comes in both semi-automatic and fully automatic models. This unit carefully monitors the victim’s heart rate; whenever a shockable heart rhythm is detected, the unit will either notify the rescuer to press a button to deliver a shock (semi-automatic) or deliver a shock independently (automatic).

    Protected from dust and water

The Zoll Medical’s AED resists damage from solids and liquids with its rugged design. Zoll’s defibrillator received an impressive IP (ingress protection) rating of IP55 for dust and water.

    Durable in harsh conditions

Users often subject AEDs to rough handling and extreme conditions during an emergency. Zoll Medical’s AED can withstand extreme temperatures, altitude, vibration, and shock. It meets IEC 68-2-27; 100G for shock and military (MIL Standard 810F).

    Off-the-shelf lithium batteries

You should never need to worry about battery life when you are in an emergency. This unit takes Duracell 123a batteries that are easily found without going to the manufacturer and have an
    impressive 5-year battery life.

    Intelligent pediatric capability

Easily convert your new or recertified AED Plus for pediatric use with the Pedi-padz® pediatric electrodes, which can be purchased separately for children up to 8 years old or weighing less than 55 pounds.

    Automatic self-testing

Know your AED is ready to go straight away with automatic self-testing. The Zoll AED will run a self-diagnosis and notify the user of any pressing issues that would hamper its life-saving functions. This feature makes maintenance a breeze and helps ensure readiness.

    Soft carry case

Though the Zoll Plus Defibrillator is already resistant to water and dust, having an extra layer of protection never hurts. Included with your AED device is a convenient carrying case for easy travel and further protection against the elements. It comes clearly marked so that it can still be identified in an emergency.

Frequently Asked Questions About the AED Plus

What is the Zoll AED Plus and who is it designed for?

The Zoll AED Plus is a state-of-the-art defibrillator engineered for both the general public and professional first responders. It guides users through each step of CPR with clear audio, text, and visual prompts, so even someone with limited training can act decisively to save a life during an emergency.

How does the Zoll AED Plus support effective CPR?

With its integrated Real CPR Help® feature, the AED Plus provides real-time feedback on chest compression depth and rate. Real CPR Help® helps rescuers administer CPR at the recommended 100-120 compressions per minute and a depth of 2 to 2.4 inches.

What design features improve usability in high-stress environments?

The AED Plus features easy-to-place, one-piece electrodes pre-connected to the unit, reducing the time spent on setup. Its rugged design, with an IP55 rating for dust and water, makes it ideal for use in diverse environments—from office break rooms to industrial work sites.

What’s the difference between semi-automatic and fully automatic for the Zoll AED Plus?

The AED Plus is available in both fully automatic and semi-auto models. In semi-automatic models, the rescuer initiates the shock delivery after the device prompts them, while the fully automatic model delivers a shock without any user intervention.

What makes the Zoll AED Plus a cost-effective choice for facilities?

Not only does the AED Plus provide robust, easy-to-use features, but it also offers one of the lowest ten-year cost-of-ownership figures on the market. This makes it a smart investment for facilities seeking both high performance and long-term savings.
