AED 3 Features

Hope is in your hands

ZOLL AED 3 is designed to enable bystanders to act quickly, appropriately, and confidently to help save lives in an SCA emergency.

Enhanced Real CPR Help

Proven Real CPR Help technology provides real-time feedback on rate and depth of compressions to help rescuers deliver high-quality CPR. ZOLL AED 3 has a full-color display with vivid rescue images, a CPR cycle timer, and a large color bar gauge that shows CPR compression depth in real time.

RapidShock analysis

RapidShock® analysis enables the industry’s shortest rhythm analysis and allows ZOLL AED 3 to deliver a shock, if needed, in as little as 5 seconds. Minimizing pause time allows for more lifesaving CPR, improves CPR quality, and can improve patient outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest.

Integrated pediatric rescue

The universal design of CPR Uni-padz® electrodes gives rescuers a single solution for both adult and pediatric victims of SCA. To treat a child, use the same set of pads and simply activate child mode. You’ll be prepared to help whether the victim is 7 or 70 years old.

Connected AEDs means confidence in readiness

Introducing AEDtrax™ an independent, seamlessly integrated designed for the ZOLL AED 3®. AEDtrax, operates 24/7 delivering reliable mobile connectivity and status updates for every AED across multiple buildings and locations. Paired with PlusTrac® you can now remotely manage and monitor your AEDs, even outside Wi-Fi zones and in rural or remote locations. And unlike embedded connectivity solutions, AEDtrax operates independently and externally, ensuring rescue readiness and compliance with little to no impact on your AED’s battery performance.

  • AEDtrax reports in daily, unlike other connected solutions that only report once a month
  • AEDtrax is always “on” allowing data storage and transfer when cellular coverage is restored
  • AEDtrax unlocks the full potential of PlusTrac allowing the monitoring of key features of AED readiness
    • GPS location tracking
    • Battery life
    • Environmental conditions including pressure, temperature & humidity
    • Connectivity status

PlusTrac program management

Your AED needs to be ready the day you need it, not just the day you buy it. PlusTrac® AED program management software helps you track and manage consumable items such as pads and batteries, monitors the certification expiration dates of volunteer responders, and keeps track of your compliance with local AED regulations.

  • Additional Features

    Enhanced Real CPR Help

This user-friendly technology provides real-time feedback on the rate and depth of chest compressions. This iteration of the Real CPR Help technology includes a full-color display showing easy-to-follow rescue images, a timer for CPR cycles, and an obvious gauge showing CPR compression depth with colorful bars.

    Text and Voice Prompts

Voice prompts remind the user to “Push Harder” or praise them, saying, “Good Compressions.” When it is time to check the patient’s heart, the voice will tell you to pause while the Zoll AED 3 analyzes the heart’s rhythm. It will then suggest whether the user must shock the patient or resume CPR until help arrives.

    A High-Resolution LCD Touchscreen Display

Vivid rescue images provide visual guidance to responders. On top of the text, full-color rescue images, and real-time feedback, Zoll Medical’s Semi-Automatic AED 3 screen includes an intuitive touchscreen. The touchscreen speeds up a responder’s access to vital AED information and enables configuration without additional external devices or software.

A Large Color Bar Gauge and a CPR Cycle Timer

The ZOLL AED 3 gives a responder as much feedback as possible without distracting them from their lifesaving task. That’s why the AED 3 includes a timer that tracks CPR cycles and a gauge that gives real-time feedback on the depth of chest compressions.

    Universal One-Piece Electrodes

CPR Uni-padz electrodes are universal and come in one convenient piece. They also boast one of the most extended shelf lives, lasting five years. ZOLL Medical’s CPR Uni-padz eliminate the need to maintain two separate sets of pads because a user can use them on both adult and pediatric patients.

    RapidShock Analysis Technology

Zoll Medical’s RapidShock™ analysis boasts one of the shortest rhythm analyses in the industry. It allows ZOLL Semi-Automatic AED 3 to deliver a shock in as little as 5 seconds if needed. Minimizing pause time can improve patient outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest and improve CPR quality. The pre-shock pause on the ZOLL AED 3 Automatic is 5 seconds longer due to the warning to stand clear of the patient and shock countdown before delivery.

    Built-in Wi-Fi Connectivity

The Zoll AED 3 Defibrillator can automatically report its readiness and create easy access to clinical event data, including CPR performance data. Cloud connectivity can enable automatic reporting of device status, giving you confidence that your AED can perform well in an emergency.

    Integrated Pediatric Rescue

CPR Uni-padz and child-mode selection softkey offer one solution to treat adults and children. The design of the CPR Uni-padz™ electrodes is universal, giving rescuers a single, versatile solution for adult and pediatric SCA victims. To treat a child, simply activate child mode and use the same set of pads. The Zoll AED 3 equips you whether your victim is seven months old or 70 years old.

    Built to Last

Emergencies rarely wait for ideal environment conditions, so ZOLL Medical built the Semi-Automatic AED 3 to handle extreme temperatures, altitude, vibration, and shock. Its rugged design received an IP (ingress protection) rating of IP55 for dust and water.

    Optional Wi-Fi Connectivity

Cloud connectivity can automatically report your device’s status, giving you confidence that your AED can save a life in an emergency. Its Wi-Fi can also provide quick access and send cardiac arrest event data to medical professionals.

    Smart Battery

The 5-year intelligent battery can report its power status. The ZOLL AED 3 incorporates an intelligent battery that reports its power level status on the LCD screen or transmits it automatically over Wi-Fi to your AED program management. Once installed, the battery lasts up to five years, costing less than half the price of competitive smart batteries. All this counts as savings for your organization and readiness in an emergency.

Post-event support via RescueNet® Event Summary

When a responder uses the Zoll AED 3 Defibrillator during an SCA, RescueNet EventSummary captures clinical event information for quality review, analysis, and post-event debriefing. The data gives rescuers and caregivers a more complete picture of an SCA event.

    Comprehensive Automatic Self-Tests

Know that your AED is ready to go straight away with automatic self-testing. The Zoll Semi-Automatic AED 3 will run a self-diagnosis and notify the user of any pressing issues that would hamper its lifesaving functions. This feature makes maintenance a breeze and helps ensure readiness.

    Semi-Automatic and Fully Automatic Configuration

Zoll AED 3 comes in both semi-automatic and fully automatic models. This unit carefully monitors the victim’s heart rate; whenever a shockable heart rhythm is detected, the unit will either notify the rescuer to press a button to deliver a shock (semi-automatic) or deliver a shock independently (fully automatic).

    USB Port Access

Update device software, export clinical data, or clone/upload configuration through the USB port.
