BREAKING – Defibtech Sunsets the Lifeline ARM (Version 1) in Favor of Next-Generation ARM XR

A New Chapter in Life-Saving Technology Begins

Defibtech, LLC has officially announced the sunsetting of the original, version 1 Lifeline ARM automated chest compression (ACC) device. MME is proactively preparing end users and our partners for the shift. This strategic transition will consolidate development, support, and production efforts behind Defibtech’s next-generation device: the Lifeline ARM XR.

As of July 30, 2025, Defibtech is transitioning the following products and accessories to End-of-Life (EOL) status. MME has a limited inventory of EOL devices and accessories, and will be working to distribute these critical accessories to those who need them. Support and service plans will continue for current customers within the warranty and service agreement timelines.

The V1 ARM will be marked End of Service in 2031, which will be the final date for technical support, repairs, and spare parts. MME will continue to provide accessories and replacement parts for current V1 users, while also offering trade-in and upgrade options for organizations ready to transition to the ARM XR platform.

Why It Matters: A Trusted Device Phases Out

The version 1 Lifeline ARM served as a reliable, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution for EMS agencies, fire departments, and hospitals across the United States. Boasting a robust design, unmatched portability, and easy interface, the Lifeline ARM has been an impactful alternative to the significantly more expensive market competitors.

We’ve been proud to champion the V1 Lifeline ARM as a chest compression solution for first responders. From trade show demonstrations to procurement support, the V1 earned its place as a market disruptor, finally providing a true market rival to the industry norm.

“We have tremendous respect for the ARM V1 and what it’s accomplished in the field. However, the XR model offers notable advancements in safety, usability for patients, and intelligence, while still being an extremely affordable alternative to competitive products. This makes the ARM XR the natural next step forward for many EMS agencies,” said Mark Taylor, CEO at Master Medical Equipment. “We know the importance of communicating equipment news early, and encourage our end-users, customers, and vendor partners to collaborate with their MME regional agent to learn what this transition means for you.”

Meet the Successor: Lifeline ARM XR

Defibtech’s new flagship compression device, the Lifeline ARM XR, builds upon the foundational strengths of the original while addressing common industry feedback.

The XR introduces a series of meaningful upgrades, such as:

  • A suction cup, engaging active chest recoil
  • Higher frame for patients with greater chest height
  • Improved backboard for stability and stretcher compatibility
  • Upgraded portability and deployment features

What This Means for Current ARM V1 Users

MME understands that the Lifeline ARM V1 has become an essential part of many response teams’ equipment lineup. To ease the transition, MME is offering a number of support services for existing users:

  • Inventory Assurance: MME has secured a limited stock of accessories, batteries, and replacement parts to continue servicing ARM V1 customers. These parts will remain available until inventory is depleted.
  • Service Continuity: Through our partner ReNew Biomedical, MME will continue to offer repairs, preventive maintenance, and battery testing for ARM V1 devices still in the field.
  • Trade-In Discounts: Customers seeking to upgrade to the XR model will be eligible for a trade-in program offering financial credit toward the purchase of the ARM XR. More details on trade-in eligibility and timelines will be shared as the program launches.
  • Training and Onboarding: To support a smooth transition, MME’s training division will provide in-person and virtual onboarding sessions for teams adopting the ARM XR.

Why the ARM XR Is the Right Move

Chest compression systems continue to play a critical role in modern emergency response. As call volumes grow and manpower challenges persist, automated compression technology lets first responders achieve better outcomes and have greater impact with less manpower.

The Lifeline ARM XR meets the growing expectations of first responders and hospital teams alike. It empowers crews to deliver consistent compressions without fatigue, reduce response time with faster deployment, and monitor compression effectiveness with real-time feedback. These benefits directly support better patient outcomes during cardiac arrest emergencies.

Whether you’re an EMS director looking to modernize your fleet or a hospital administrator aiming to improve in-hospital cardiac arrest response, the ARM XR delivers in performance, value, and longevity.
