What is an AED?
An AED is an Automated External Defibrillator, a portable device used to resuscitate a victim of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). AEDs are simple to use, designed to be deployed by non-medical bystanders in the event of a cardiac emergency.
More than 360,000 cardiac arrests occur out-of-hospital in the United States each year. Emergencies happen every day in homes, workplaces, schools, churches, parks, and public areas.

AEDS SAVE LIVES EVERY DAY
The average survival rate for Sudden Cardiac Arrest is only 10%. However, by immediately deploying an AED and CPR, survival rates jump to over 60%. (Source: American Heart Association)
For every minute that passes without an AED shock, the victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10%.
